Everything hurts for some reason. I just ache and I don't know why. Maybe tension, maybe the weather, maybe perimenopause. God knows. I took naproxen, and put on CBD rub. Also have heat on my back. It's the first day back to work - still working from home. Reasonable accommodation was extended by the Medical Director at my workplace until February 26, where it will be revisited.
I need to scale back on sugar or go off of it - and I'm struggling. Buying Gluten-Free Cupcakes, and getting my fudge today, most likely doesn't help.
Talk a brief walk at lunch - the sun jumped out. Then disappeared again. Took another after 4pm, when it jumped out again - and the clouds appeared to roll away.
Walk at lunch was around the block, walk after - was to the grocery store and back.

Before I forget, I saw this on FB - with the NY City Ballet performing with the philarmonic in the streets around Lincoln Center, and various locals in the city.

New York vs. Corona Virus
Well, NY now has confirmed that it too has the virulent UK strain that is highly infectious. Someone in Syracuse had it. So they are now investigating Syracuse with a fine tooth comb, in an attempt to figure out how far it spread and how this individual got it. (Since they haven't traveled and did not come into contact with anyone from the UK. I'm not sure the person would know - I mean he could have come into contact with someone who'd been to the UK or had been close to someone else that did - in passing. Say he stopped, took off the mask and had a chat on the sidewalk. Someone passed him without a mask, and wham. )
NYC's current goal is to vaccinate 400,000 people a week - according to the Mayor. The Governor was a bit more realistic with 100,000 a week. Hmm - I didn't know we had that many vaccines? They want to get 1 million people vaccinated by the end of January.( Read more... )
National News
2021 is going to be interesting. It's just four days in and it's already proven to be far too interesting for my taste. I'd rather it be a tad less interesting - I've become nostalgic for a boring news cycle. (And this is just in reference to the pandemic, I've not even broached the horrid political situation that sets my nerves on edge whenever I think about it. Or for that matter what is going on outside of the US. The US's news is well interesting all on its own...to the point in which you kind of don't want to look at it and wish it would go away.)
Cases and deaths in the US are steadily climbing. We've managed to be the only country with a "vertical" line. While it's going on, our Federal Government is wasting time worrying over election results that everyone has certified, audited, and cleared. So - during a normal year, yes, this would be patently absurd, but during a pandemic when people are dying - it is unconscionable and insane.
I foresee the Republican Party imploding in on itself. If it hasn't already. It's at war as we speak. It's actually kind of amusing in a way.

Snagged from someone with my same last name on FB (but no relation). [As an aside, maybe I should date someone with the same last name as mine - fall in love - get married - and no issues changing last names. Hey, it's an idea. Also shouldn't be that hard - my last name is the equivalent of Smith or Grey or Jones. Very popular, and it even works as a first name.]

I hope you can see it. I am beginning to think we need to be very tentative towards 2021...don't touch anything, go in slowly, no racing around.
Finally talked to mother - she called me back, after navigating my father - who insists on drinking alcohol when he shouldn't. ( Read more... )
