I should take a walk - it's nice outside, but I don't feel like it. Instead, I've gone to sleep in my chair at least twice while typing this.

I'm tired. Tried to go to bed earlier - but alas, it didn't work. I woke up at 5:30, and I didn't fall asleep until closer to midnight.

Dreamed about people in soap operas that I never watched. My analytical brain at one point - thought, wait a minute, what the heck are these people doing my dream. This makes no sense. And voila I woke up.

NYC is debating the vaccination mandate for all indoor venues, including museums. I updated my apps. I now have the vaccination card digitally saved on the NYC COVID APP and the NYS APP.

I was dozing off while writing this.

Mother: well, I get up at 5:30 am every morning.
Me: What time do you go to bed?
Mother: I don't fall asleep until close to 11:30-12 midnight.
Me: This not good mother. You need to be getting more than 5-6 hours of sleep if you want to heal. I worry about you.
Mother: I was napping during the day.

I napped for thirty minutes. 4:30 -5PM.

Mother has been regaling folks with the story about the guy who wanted to steal the sandals off my feet - to their utter amusement. I told co-workers and you folks. Maybe I should tell the folks on FB? Nah. FB is weird.

Mother: Your father was off-the-wall today.
Me: Oh? for too much information )

Me: Do you want anything for your anniversary on the 22nd?
Mother: No. Well, I'm tempted to ask for chocolates, but I really shouldn't.
Me: I'm tempted to send them to you, but I really shouldn't. I'm having troubles going off it myself.
Mother: Me too.

They finished residing and re-roofing the house behind me. It looks nice. Now if only they could do the rest of the houses.

Meanwhile I keep getting into annoying discussions with folks on the GH fanboard about characters. It reminds me of my discussions with folks on the Buffy boards.

Sleep deprivation results in irritability. Also a desire to nap in the afternoon. And eat too much chocolate.

Work. Eh, it either can't stick to me, or it's annoying me. Oh well, I am happy about transitioning the non-construction related stuff over to other folks. Read more... )

There's a lot of music festivals popping up in NYC at the end of August. I'm not a fan of live music - or rather, let me rephrase that - it depends on the venue. Most venues that feature live music or so I've found, suck beans. They have horrible acoustics, I can't make out the music or see it, the seating is uncomfortable, and I'm bored and uncomfortable as a result.

For me to enjoy music - I have to be comfortable, not distracted by other people, and the sound should be clear and not cluttered or compromised by poor acoustics, mic feedback, sound system interference or feed back, etc.
If all I hear is feedback what is the point?
Run-down of concerts that I feel like talking about )

I prefer musicals - I can hear them, there's dancing, and the venues are often better. Even if I can't hear them - there's usually something to keep me entertained. I'm more visual than auditory anyhow - which could be part of it. Don't know. I love music - listen to it all day long, five days a week. I just don't like concerts. I know I'm weird.

Considering I didn't go to concerts prior to the pandemic - don't see myself going now. Hmm, maybe when I retire, I should move to a small town in Vermont or Maine? And bike?

Tonight's randomly selected photo - is of a carousel in Dumbo, Brooklyn.

Snagged from yourlibrarian who turned a fanfic meme into a meta meme. (I don't write fanfic - well outside of three fanfics...but it's not my thing.)
