A03 memage
Nov. 6th, 2025 08:45 pmGo to your Works page on AO3, look at the tags, and see what the answers to these questions are. (Or any other site that has tags, I don’t know if FFnet or Wattpad does)
I'm [archiveofourown.org profile]shadowkat67 on AO3. (Most of my stuff is meta, essay, or analysis, with a couple of fics. All of the fics are in the Buffy and Angel fandom.)
1. What rating do you write most thing under?
General Audiences (128 out of 240) (Note: I did have 490+ but A03 got snippy and people complained that I had too many reviews, episode meta/recaps, and works that did not fit their "subjective" definition of a fandom creative work. So I removed them from A03 and put them on Squidgeworld instead. It's also why I no longer post or put work on A03.)
2. What are your top 4 fandoms?
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (121 out of 240 works on AO3)
2. Doctor Who (62 out of 240)
3. Angel the Series (30 out 240)
4. Farscape (15)
3. What is your top character you write about?
Spike (64 works)
4. What are the 3 top pairings? (I don't write about pairings very much?)
1. William "Spike" Pratt /Buffy Summers (20 out of 240 works)
2. Liam "Angel/Angelus" /Buffy Summers (13 out of 240 works)
3. Tara Maclay/Willow Rosenberg (7 out of 240 works)
5. What are the top 3 additional tags?
1. Meta (176)
2. Episode Related (86)
3. Reviews (76)
6. Did any of this surprise you?
Not at all. I know most of the meta was Buffy related. And 80% of the stuff on A03 is meta. I don't really write fanfic? I have maybe three or four fanfics on A03, two are scrabbles (mainly dialogue), one is a complete and lengthy (and has gotten the most kudos apparently and hits, which surprised me until I realized that Ao3 is primarily for fanfiction?), one was a WIP I never finished.
My only true interaction with fandom was the Buffy/Angel fandom. I do discuss shows in other fandoms, but I don't do anything more than discuss and speculate on spoilers.
As an aside? I rarely read or respond to the comments on Ao3 (because they pissed me off a few years back when they insisted I remove over 100 works or they'd suspend my account indefinitely). But I decided to do it tonight, and read one in Spanish and actually understood it? Have I picked up the language by osmosis? I can't speak it or necessarily understand verbal Spanish? But maybe I do? I hear it, and about 100 other languages daily.
Either that or there are a lot of similar English words in Spanish. Possibly. Often it's just the gist I get, and that's enough. But maybe I will take Spanish on Duolingo.
