Jan. 12th, 2007 08:26 pmJust created a yummy new desert or ahem an alcoholic drink - in a wine glass put whip cream, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, melt some chocolat with cream in the microwave - pour on top, add a little liguor (vodaka was what I used or if you don't like alcohol - skip) add more whip cream.
Ahhh...
Yes, some people use recipe books when they cook, me? I just throw stuff together and see what works. The kitchen is another word for a chemistry set in my lexicon.
Sorry for the spamming, somewhat buzzed and very bored. Also my mind will not let me work on my novel, dang-it. Maybe later. Hopes.

Date: 2007-01-13 05:35 am (UTC)But there are no apartments with washer/dryer hooks ups anywhere around here...however on each floor (on the other side of the court yard) there is a little laundry room w/two washers and two dryers. This is actually convenient, I can wait until I have two loads worth and do them at the same time, it means a lot of lugging back and forth to and from my apartment, but really pretty convenient (relatively speaking, nothing is as convenient as owning my own!).
Sorry to go on and on... I'm afraid I really miss my washer & dryer.

Date: 2007-01-13 06:02 am (UTC)I don't mind doing laundry in of itself. What I mind is lugging the bag down three flights of steps, to the sidewalk, three blocks to the mat, hoping and praying that the machines I want are available and there are enough for three loads (always tends to be three - one linens (hot), one clothes or bright colors (cold) and one undies/light colors(warm)). Then sit for two hours. Worry about getting a dryer - you have to compete with the laundress and other customers (pray no matrons come in - they take six machines sometimes) and then hope for a folding table to fold your laundry afterwards.
When I had a job - I used to just drop it off and have them do it - was about five/six bucks more but a great time saver. Takes about 2 - 2 1/2 hours at the mat and one at home folding/making bed up clean. Ugh.
But...there are advantages, like the old Irish lady and sometimes it can be relaxing just to get away from the apartment...and hang out. So shouldn't whine too much.

I enjoyed NUMB3RS, but the actually cases mean nothing to me, I love the brothers and the Father (they have him dating a colleague of, or actually a department head over) Charlie now, and I love the actress. And I adore the craftmen's style house with all the beautiful craftmen's style furniture...
I don't feel too weird for loving those aspects since they are always featured in every episode.
