Here we go again...
I was laid-off today. Along with fifteen other people, including cubicle mate, and a gal whose husband is currently being detained by immigration because his visa expired. Even the recruiter who hired me was laid-off. Found out at 11:45. Got home by 12:35.
Not a good day.
Said goodbye to the people I cared about. Chatted with one of the other people who got laid-off. Then went home, cried, got on the computer and sent off the requisite emails. Because when you get laid-off - you tell everyone, because you never know who might know about a possible job opportunity. Can't ask for unemployment until next week apparently - so will claim it then.
I swear I have the worst luck when it comes to job-hunting.

I really had hoped you would find another, better job, long before this company started to fall apart.
Well, at least you do get the unemployment, which is always good...
but man: here we go again, headed into the holiday season which is not a great time to be job hunting (but is a good time to have some freedom to travel to see family, I hope you can take full advantage of that).
Stay rested, and get plenty of exercise (do all the stuff I never do in stressful situations!).

Hope something turns up for you soon.

I will be thinking of you. Job hunting sucks so so much.

Also, are you on linked-in? I've found it fairly useful for keeping up with old co-workers/references.
However, don't wait on the unemployment. It takes a couple weeks for the paperwork to grind through.

On the unemployment? They won't let me file my claim until next week since I worked two days this week and my gross is more than their payment apparently - been through this before and I tried yesterday, but it wouldn't let me file. Unemployment is completely electronic now and very fast - they send it into direct deposit or a bank card. It's no big, just means I'll get the unemployment longer. Have two weeks severance coming to me, plus the vacate time and two days I worked.

Good luck.
