Here we go again...
Oct. 16th, 2007 02:41 pmI was laid-off today. Along with fifteen other people, including cubicle mate, and a gal whose husband is currently being detained by immigration because his visa expired. Even the recruiter who hired me was laid-off. Found out at 11:45. Got home by 12:35.
Not a good day.
Said goodbye to the people I cared about. Chatted with one of the other people who got laid-off. Then went home, cried, got on the computer and sent off the requisite emails. Because when you get laid-off - you tell everyone, because you never know who might know about a possible job opportunity. Can't ask for unemployment until next week apparently - so will claim it then.
I swear I have the worst luck when it comes to job-hunting.

Date: 2007-10-16 08:13 pm (UTC)I really had hoped you would find another, better job, long before this company started to fall apart.
Well, at least you do get the unemployment, which is always good...
but man: here we go again, headed into the holiday season which is not a great time to be job hunting (but is a good time to have some freedom to travel to see family, I hope you can take full advantage of that).
Stay rested, and get plenty of exercise (do all the stuff I never do in stressful situations!).
