Just a quick poll to see any one who reads or lurks on my lj is reading any of these books - so I'll know if it makes sense to post on them or not. Thanks.

Lurker here *waves*

I've actually just gone back and read your review/post-reading thoughts on Pale Demon, as I've just finished reading it myself. Am eagerly awaiting the release of Jim Butcher's Ghost Story, though am sorry it's not got the usual April release. I'm contenting myself with a listen to Changes though on my journey to and from work.

I haven't read George R R Martin though do have them loaded on my ereader and will try them one day - at least this way I'll have no preconceptions when the TV series starts.

(And this is much more info than you were probably wanting in response to your poll *g*)

Not at all. And thanks. At least four people besides myself have read Harrison. I might do a longer meta on it, not sure yet.

I haven't read them, yet... but I do actually have one on my Teetering Pile, so I'll get to it eventually!

Read 3 of G R.R. Martin's series. The last one was better than the second but, gee, I hate seeing so many Starks die off but the greying of the 'villains' balance it out. I wonder how it will fare as a TV show?

Have read all of the Hallows books, including Pale Demon. [Thanks for the rec.] Talk about greying villains; look at Trent! And Rachel's story keeps evolving.

I am a luker who rarely comments but reads almost always.

Well, at least 4 people besides me read Kim Harrison. Disappointing. Because I've figured out that the mystery at the center of all her books is Trent. And he's not really a villain at all. We've been mislead.

I love character puzzles. In which you think a character or verse is one thing, then discover that if you read it a different way...

I've also only read the first 3 books of the G. RR. Martin series. That's another series that flips characters on you, where you realize halfway through Storm of Swords - that Ned Stark wasn't the hero you thought he was, and Jamie Lannister isn't the villain.

Anyhow thanks for commenting.

I've been reading copious quantities of mysteries lately... but of course I always make time for Jim Butcher!
