Whoa...Governor Cumo just passed and is signing into law today an Historic Executive Order that New Yorkers can vote in ANY polling place in the state, just not the races they aren't registered to vote for. Usually, you can only vote in the place you are assigned to. He said compared to last week this will be a walk in the park.

This is going to be a historic and incredibly weird election people. If you are outside the US and watching...this has never happened before in our nation's history to my knowledge.

Awesome. Though I hope for your sake this won't lead to a repeat of Florida in 2000, with the results being contested in courts for weeks afterwards...

Good luck tomorrow.

This at the last minute? Counting the votes is going to be oodles of fun. How do they intend to keep people from voting multiple times?

I've never voted anywhere where the poll workers had access to computers. It was always sign your name beside your name printed in the poll list and more lately show your ID/IDS. I don't think it will be a problem for tomorrow, but the possibilies for fraud in checking voters off a list of those yet to vote via computers is endless.

I see in your other post that those having to vote at another site will vote by paper ballot. That is common a lot of places and is pretty secure.

Yep, that's actually how they are doing it. "Provisional voting".

Does mean more people will be able to vote. Which is of the good.

Due to Sandy this makes sense (though I'm sure some Republicans are freaking out.)

Probably not considering most of the Republicans live in Staten Island, Coney Island, Far Rockaways, Suffolk, Westchester, and Nassau Counties - which don't have any power and if they didn't do this, would not be able to vote at all.
