I think it was meant to be a satire on blog posts not fan discussion boards.;-)

(Although I've admittedly gotten what you've stated above in response to blog posts...clearly the writer isn't in a tv fandom.)

Oh, I didn't mean fan posts at all. I mean political bloggers, articles in the newspaper that allow comments, that sort of thing. That's what you see in those comments. I can't read them anymore.

Ah, true. I avoid them myself. Actually I try to avoid discussing politics on the internet - because I can't separate my emotions from it and have a tendency to rant or get didatic. (the Tea Party makes me see Red.)
