1. In work communications hell. You know that Abbott and Costello routine
who's on first, what's on second...something like that except by emai. I swear male railroad engineers shouldn't be permitted to communicate by email. They do not have the patience for it. Also they complicate things while insisting they are simplifying, it's irritating.

2. It occurs to me that if I clocked 7 hours of sleep each night as opposed to 5-6 hrs, I'd be far less cranky.

3. Turned out to be a lovely day to wander around Rufus King Park - big park for a city park. With grass. Big trees. A house (Rufus King's house - he was Martin Luther King, Jr's brother). Gardens. Playground. And benches. See, Jamaica, Queens isn't all that bad. And yes, I work in NYC - just on Long Island not Manhattan...which confuses non-natives and people who don't know life exists outside Manhattan, but what can you do?

4. Female writer meme is depressing me. So for that matter is Mark Watches...I think I read the latter for the same reason I feel compelled to eat that last piece of chocolat sitting in the kitchen, even if I know it's bad for me and I don't even like that type of chocolat...(Donut works better as analogy, but since I can't eat them...)

Back to annoying myself at work...oh, well, music helps. Listening to Alternative Indie and Alternative Punk mixes today, with Feist, Florence and the Machine, amongs others..

Heh. Did you see my comment yesterday? I guess you could describe it as passive-aggressive if you wanted, but I am SO TIRED of his complaints. How dare anyone write something which upsets him? I hope it's mostly hyperbole, or he'll have a heart attack before the end of S5. I just - what kind of show does he want? If things upset him this much, maybe he should just go watch My Little Pony. (Nothing against MLP, but I'm sure it's not got the emotional intensity of Buffy.) I like my show BECAUSE it's difficult... /random rambling.

How he made if through 7 seasons of the X-Files, I'll never know.

When people did this online, I'd tell them to go watch 7th Heaven or Charmed. ;-) (Which annoyed them for some reason.)

What on earth happened in Season 3 that upset him? (I grew bored after reading his Becoming II summary... that left out too much). Nothing horrifically traumatizing happened in Season 3 BtVS. And if he thinks Season 3 is traumatizing, he best not hang around for Season 6... or AtS 4.

He was traumatized by Gingerbread and Helpless...yes, apparently his mother destroyed his record collection yet allowed him to watch the X-Files and Silence of the Lambs. So Gingerbread triggered that bad memory and Tipper Gore. Helpless? How dare they ruine Giles and make him unfeeling and nasty! Such evil writers. I have no idea how he is going to handle Faith's switch or for that matter what happens with Oz in Wild at Heart...and he may be traumatized for life by Yoko Factor...and just wait for Restless.

The boy is incredibly emotional and easily upset. I have no clue how he was able to read Harry Potter.

PS: I'm enjoying the Other Guy's Bride - it's hilarious. Although I feel sorry for Ginny. Seriously, the guy can't handle her in skin-tight britches, yet she's expected to deal with him being in skin-tight britches? Men.

Does Mark ever reply to comments, or does he just post? I couldn't see any replies from him when I just peeked over.

And he's still all capping.

He doesn't appear to reply. Although I haven't read all the comments. I saw a couple of replies when he did Hunger Games, but none lately...He's like a lot of the professional bloggers. And he has other's moderating.

This bugs me actually. When people ignore their comments completely.
There's no interaction. And when they have other's moderate their journal.

I was thinking about it today...

It feels very narcissitic...you aren't really sharing your opinion or seeing how others think. You are telling them your view, and getting off on how they react to you, but staying above them all. Like the Queen in Snow White looking in the mirror and asking who the fairest is of them all...

I may be wrong, he may be responding. But it is a problem I have with people who professionally blog. We interact. We share. We change each other's minds. We correspond. We discuss. While they appear to be sitting on soap-boxes giving lectures to choirs and getting paid for it.

I agree with you. If he/they were replying, it wouldn't feel like a soapbox, but when he/they don't it really does.

I prefer the interaction, not just the jockeying that happens often in that sort of atmosphere. There isn't conversation. I prefer conversation.

And his blog seems a little too dramatic for my tastes.

Having the same issues. Too dramatic...feels almost unreal at times or telegraphed.

He does on occasion have interesting things to say...but few and far between. Too soap-box. And the comments bring back memories. LOL!
