I left this off of the other poll, but got curious. Just want to see if I'm right. My prediction is that there aren't that many Doctor Who fans that read me for this to matter and the one's that do are Moffat fans or ambivalent. Am I right?

I genuinely love both, you can't make me pick just one! LOL

Hence the "both" option. ;-)

I liked a lot of the RTD Who, but he lost me with the angst/god trip stuff toward the end. It was a relief to meet the Trickster Doctor, even if he doesn't always make total sense. Why should he? He's an alien!

RTD had companions I loved more: Martha Jones in particular. But I love Eleven so much more than Ten that Moffat easily wins. Plus the story arc of season five and its theme of fairy tales played out so well; one of my favorite seasons of television, even if a few of the individual episodes were merely average.

Season six wasn't as strong, but I did like the Amy/Rory and River/Doctor bits quite a lot. So Moffat still wins.

Good points.

I think Moffat does a better job with romantic relationships than RT Davies. While Davies did a better job with platonic companions...Donna Nobel and Martha Jones and Captain Jack Harkness.

OTOH...Doctor River Song continues to be my favorite character in the Whoverse. And the only Doctor Who CD I own is Seasons 5 and 6 arc.
The only episodes I loved outside of Family of Blood, The Waters of Mars, and the Human Condition during Davies run of the series were oddly written by Moffat: Silence in the Library, Forests of the Dead, and Blink.

Love Rusty (and will always be beyond grateful that he brought the show back), but if it comes down to a choice Moffat's better. (In My Objective Opinion.)

It would be Moffat, since I liked S5 a lot, but not 6, with only smatterings of earlier seasons.

Has to be the old show; trying to pretend the movie between Sylvester McCoy & the new show was an unfortunate bad dream.

Long live wee!Amy and her Raggedy Men,
ray.
