Last night I rewatched the Disney flick "Newsies" from the early 1990s. The overarching theme was pretty much the same as Buffy - together we can take down the bullies. It takes one voice to speak out, but if many join, that voice won't be silenced and then things can finally change.

Ray Fisher. I don't know if you know about Justice League reshoot with Whedon that occured in 2017? In case you missed my last post on it )

Ray Fisher's allegations are explained HERE. Fisher has been fighting to be heard since roughly 2017. He's the reason Charisma Carpenter got the courage to speak out - she did it in support of his allegations not for herself.

To date...the following have posted their support of Charisma Carpenter and Ray Fisher's statements.

Charisma - Lists all the people who have tweeted or instagrammed their support of Charisma

Below the cut is all the tweets and posts I could find supporting Charisma from cast, crew, tie-in novelists, writers, etc...

[ETA1 - 2-15-21: added Amy Acker's post in support. She didn't experience anything but is supportive. Also added link to the Pruitt's complaints a few weeks back. ETA2 - 2-16-21: Nick Brendan made a statement via his FB page, poor guy was in the hospital waiting for Spinal Surgery and trying to a GoFundMe to help pay for it. Meanwhile fans are bugging him about something that happened over 20 years ago. SMH. ETA- 2-17-21 : Added Stephen Deknight - who had a post similar to Acker's he didn't know about it. He wouldn't have - he was working on Buffy at the time and did a couple of Angel episodes. And it was behind closed doors. I doubt anyone told him. But he loves the actress and the others, and supports them.]

This is a very long list, which I will keep updating as information becomes available, we have over 22 to date. )

Also, as an aside, some Buffy fans are assholes. (I get it your hero has fallen off his pedestal, but come on.) Seriously. The people that actors have to put up with. I don't know how they do it. SMH Read more... )

For Ray Fisher?

I think Whedon is done. Read more... )

I'm watching All Creatures Great and Small Today. I find it comforting.

I suppose I should say Happy Valentine's Day to those who practice? My neighbor wished me one, so I wished her one back. She's an old Russian Woman who speaks very little English.

I took a very brief walk around the block today - it was gray and ugly out, with melting snow glaciers, and slush. Not a good day for the Cemetery.

Still having troubles focusing - I think I've finally hit a wall of sorts? Mother called, and I told her I was depressed. Lonely and depressed. Valentine's Day is kind of hard when you are single, alone, during a pandemic. It's not exactly easily normally.

Mother called father, and wished him a happy Valentine's Day.

Father: I didn't get you anything.
Mother: No worries, I didn't get you anything either. But I wanted you to know that you are still my Valentine.
Father: And you are still mine.

They are separated by about a mile. He's in lockdown at a rehab/nursing care facility, while she's in lockdown at her home, with home health care aids.

It's all rather painful and depressing. But I still have them. And they are in a nice place, and it could be so much worse.

Mother also talked to sis-in-law today - and discovered that her post about losing people during a pandemic on Instagram wasn't about this pandemic but the AIDS pandemic. This one was reminding her of how many she lost in the last one.

The AIDS pandemic was heart-breaking, in part, because a lot of people were selfish assholes during it and did not care.

Human default appears to be selfish asshole. But many do choose not to give in to that. I have a friend who is working to help give out vaccines in her POD. And bakes meals for folks. I kind of feel pathetic. Did see the mouse again. He's kind of cute. Little brown mouse, with little ears, and a little tail. I put down more mint tea-bags. They hate mint.

Catching him is beyond me. And no, I don't want to invest in mice traps or sound thingies - been there done that. It didn't work.

Mother is watching the Mandalorian - primarily for Baby Yoda. LOL!

I'm kind of dreading work next week. New project may be more problematic than expected, not sure yet. Today, I'm just vegging mostly. And feeling grateful that I'm not famous, have only a few followers on Twitter (I have more on Instagram - because I'm better at taking photos than mean snarky one-liners.).

This week reminded me once again ...of something my church's Minister said ages ago..."Be careful who you worship - because you will worship something." I worship the Universe (although I've never been much into worshipping anything and have issues with the word). It's amazing. And all encompassing, and connects all of us. And inside every soul on the planet.

People? Are flawed. And will disappoint. They will always disappoint. We can all be assholes - given the correct circumstances.

That said, people can also be kind and stand up for each other in difficult circumstances. I get hope from that.

I leave you with a close up of the feral cat that I've nicknamed Spunky Kitty - who lurks in the backyard of my apartment complex, and I got out on the street today.
